Judge Roberta C. Archer is a native Detroiter. She is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Orr and the youngest of five siblings. The value of hard work and dedication was instilled in her at a young age as she began swimming competitively at the age of six. Her competitive swimming career spanned well over a decade as she continued racing through her college years.

Judge Archer graduated from Mercy high school. She received her undergraduate degree from Florida A&M University. Archer returned to Detroit and attended Michigan State University College of Law (formerly Detroit College of Law).

Upon receiving her law degree and passing the Michigan Bar Examination, she began her legal practice as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney at the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office. After a number of years, Archer joined the law firm of Clark Hill PLC., as an associate. However, it was not long before Archer found herself drawn back into the field of criminal law, as she joined the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Trial Division.

Judge Archer is committed to upholding the standards that one would expect when entering any courtroom,  and that would include being both FAIR and IMPARTIAL with each and every case.
